REVIEW OF THE PROPOSED NEW EMBASSY COMPOUND ON IBEX HILL ROAD , LUSAKA . The United States of America under a bilateral agreement with the Government of Zambia intends to construct an embassy compound in Ibex Hill, Lusaka . This compound will house the various diplomatic missions of the United States to Zambia . The development will be located on Subdivision 649 of Stand 100 in the residential area. The project will cover a total of 5 hectares of land that has been re-zoned for diplomatic use. This notice therefore, serves to inform members of the general public, interested and affected parties that an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed New Embassy Compound has been received by the Environmental Council of Zambia (ECZ) for review, in line with the provisions of the Environmental Protection and Pollution Control Act Number 12 of 1990 as read with the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations; SI. No. 28, of 1997 and is available for scrutiny at the following places: Lusaka City Council – At the Civic Centre in room 503 and the Lusaka City Library in town; Chibelo Basic School Ibex Hill in Lusaka ; Environmental Council of Zambia Offices – Northern Regional Office in Ndola ; Environmental Council of Zambia Offices - Information Documentation Centre (IDC) in Lusaka  ; An electronic copy is also accessible here. The report will be available for scrutiny during office hours from 08:00 hours to 13:00 hours and 14:00 hours to 17:00 hours. Interested and affected parties may send their written submissions to the undersigned.
